Steve Yeary has been the Executive Director of the Appalachian Children's Home since January of 2001. Mr. Yeary is a graduate of Lincoln Memorial University with a B.A. in Social Sciences with minors in History and Social Work. He came to the Children's Home with experience as a U.S. Army Drill Sergeant, a hospital administrator, and a state employee in a residential juvenile facility. His expertise in finding funding sources in the form of grants, government programs, and state/federal contracts has been an invaluable resource for the Home. Under his direction, the Children's Home is now home to 44 teenagers, employs 52 staff members, and has an annual budget of $2.4 million. Mr. Yeary's wife, Alice, is also an employee of the Children's Home. His 16-year-old son, Josh, is an honor student and athlete at North Laurel High School. |
